HAAC Photography Exhibit
Area photographers will have a chance to exhibit their photos at a Photography Exhibit sponsored by the Humboldt Area Arts Council.
The Photography Exhibit opening and artist reception will be held Thursday, Oct. 26, from 5-7 p.m. at the Humboldt Art Center, 906 Sumner Avenue, Humboldt. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
The exhibit will also be open Friday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29, from 1-3 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 30, from 4-6 p.m. Admission is $3. Admission is free to members of the Humboldt Area Arts Council and artisans.
Those attending will get to vote for the People’s Choice award winner.
Everyone is invited to share their photography with the community.
“It’s neat to see the talent that’s out there. It’s free to enter,” Brittany Caryl, Photography Exhibit committee member, said. “We also want to encourage people to attend and support the event.”
Photos should be submitted by Oct. 20 to either Witz End, First State Bank or Insite Creatives. Two photos per person, with an 8” by 10” minimum. Photos must be ready to hang with wire or hooks installed. Name, contact information and image title should be listed on the back. Photos can be picked up from the Art Center on Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The Humboldt Art Center will also host several upcoming classes:
Paint and Pour Class will be Oct. 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with instructor Lori Curran. Registration and lab fee is $30. The outcome will be painted double pumpkins. Just 15 spots are available for the class.
Marbled Journals will be Oct. 19 (time to be determined). Instructors are Kris and Barb. Price to be determined.
Summer Schlopp and Schmear will be Nov. 7 from 7-8:30 p.m. with instructor Susan Witzel. Registration and lab fee is $29. Participants will use sponges and rags to bring their own masterpiece home. Just 15 spots are available.
On Nov. 16, Lisa Rasmussen will host a Jewels and Gemstones class at two times: 5:30-7 p.m. or 7:30-9 p.m. Registration and lab fee is $30. Just 12 spots are available for each time slot. Students will create a personal charm pendant using natural stones and charms.
All classes are held at the Humboldt Art Center, 906 Sumner Avenue. Payment is online only and is non-refundable. Fee free to bring a choice of drink/snack for the class.
